After one year travelling in Asia, we landed in Cuba on New Year’s Eve. Before that we had celebrated on the airplane at Spanish
time with the cheapest wine we had found at the duty free at the airport. Then we celebrated at Cuban time, on the street where our house was in La Habana, while our neighbours were burning straw dolls masqueraded as Donald Trump to welcome the new year. So we were beginning.
